This position will be responsible for providing comprehensive technical support and assistance to ensure the smooth operation of our organization’s IT infrastructure and applications. This includes troubleshooting hardware and software issues, maintaining network systems, ensuring data security, and participating in application development projects. Our IT Technician will work closely with other IT team members and end users to resolve technical problems and improve IT services.
General Description of Key Responsibilities:
- Provide first-level support for hardware, software, and network issues
- Configure, test, update, and repair computing and other office equipment
- Assist users with IT-related problems and provide training as needed
- Identify common causes of trouble such as loose connections or defective components
- Review manufacturer specifications on connections and methods to locate problems
- Perform regular preventative maintenance and diagnostic tests on computer systems
- Perform regular maintenance on computer systems, including patches, updates, and backups
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues
- Maintain phone and data cabling including adding and moving lines as needed
- Maintain wireless network including tablets, Honeywell RF guns and access points
- Ensure all IT equipment is properly configured and functioning
- Implement and maintain security protocols to protect data and systems
- Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments
- Maintain label templates and databases
- Maintain accurate records of IT assets, configurations, processes, and procedures
- Document troubleshooting steps and solutions for future reference
- Work with IT team to plan and implement IT projects
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers for technical support and procurement
Position Qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, one to three years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proven experience in IT support or a similar role
- Experience with Windows Operating Systems (Windows 10, 11)
- Familiarity with Windows Server systems (Windows Server 2012, 2019)
- Familiarity with Network cabling standards
- Basic Router/AP configuration knowledge
- Experience with report writing, database maintenance, and label creation
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional) preferred
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking
- Ability to analyze and diagnose problems and work independently to solve them
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Effective communication skills
- Detail oriented and highly organized
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft 365 software; advanced Excel skills preferred
- MRP/ERP software experience preferred
- Ability to occasionally work outside normal working hours
